The department is committed to providing patient-centered, integrative Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) services that emphasize both disease prevention and treatment.

Physicians in the department possess solid clinical training in TCM and a strong foundation in evidence-based medicine. They are capable of comprehensively assessing patients’ constitutional characteristics, disease conditions, and long-term health risks, and are experienced in managing common acute and chronic illnesses, multimorbidity, and health conditions requiring long-term follow-up.

Furthermore, the Department of Traditional Chinese Family and Community Medicine offers home-based medical care services, enabling patients with mobility limitations, functional impairment, or long-term care needs to continue receiving TCM treatment and health assessments in a familiar home environment, thereby reducing the burden of travel for medical care. Through the seamless integration of outpatient and home-based services, the department is dedicated to establishing an accessible, stable, and humanistic model of TCM family medicine, highlighting the essential role of Traditional Chinese Medicine in primary and community healthcare.

Physicians whose primary clinical registration is in Western medicine mainly provide Western medical outpatient services, including pharmacotherapy, diagnostic examinations, and medical procedures.

If Chinese herbal medicine prescriptions are required, patients are kindly requested to register for outpatient clinics located in the Meide Medical Building (e.g., Clinic No. 167), where collaborating TCM clinics will assist in prescribing Chinese herbal medicines.
